Distance from pool deck floor to bottom of folding windows between pool deck and interior game room is about 40 inches. Windows are completely openable (accordion style) but were locked during inspection. They are not self-closing and do not have a barrier or audible alarm...Ground level doors and windows (less than 48 inches from pool deck floor to window sill) opening from occupied buildings to inside the pool closure shall be self-closing or child protected by means of a barrier or audible alarm.

Many containers of acid and bags of salt were stored the equipment/pump room area. Chemicals in the chemical storage room were less than 12 inches above the floor...Chemicals shall be stored separated from enclosure provided for pumps and other electrical equipment. Chemicals shall be stored on shelving or platforms at least 12 inches above floor.

Hose bib in equipment/pump room with attached hose had no backflow preventer...Hose bibs shall have an approved backflow preventer.

New permit issued today.
DISCUSSION: We will provide additional guidance regarding openable windows between game room and pool deck to meet safety requirements. In the mean time, these windows must be maintained closed and locked at all times.
REMINDERS: The equipment/chemical rooms must be kept locked when not in use by the pool operator.
Wake County Plan Review and Recreational Sanitation Section recommends pools be hyper chlorinated at least twice a month. This activity should be accurately logged on the CPO check list form.
