General Comments
Top sheet not folded over top blankets as required by .1812 ("The upper sheet shall be folded under the mattress at the lower end and folded over the cover for at least six inches at the top end.") All linens associated with beds are laundered after each guest, eliminating through another method the hazard that this Rule was intended to eliminate. While no points are being assessed for this on this inspection, please be aware that this is still a valid Rule in North Carolina and an establishment could potentially be found in violation of the letter of the Rule, even if laundering all linens after each guest. Fourth floor undergoing renovations and is out of service. This floor was not evaluated during today's inspection. Please Note: 15A NCAC 18A .1818 PLAN REVIEW states: "Plans, drawn to scale, and specifications shall also be submitted prior to construction of additions or renovations to existing lodging establishments." Contact Wake County Plan Review immediately to discuss scope of renovations and whether or not plan review will be required. The Plan Review Inspector for this area is Christina Sancha, and she can be reached at our main office at 919-856-7400. Recommend that no construction work be done prior to discussing renovation with Sancha, as work that does not meet the Lodging Rules may be required to be redone to meet code. One handwash sink (room 122) observed at 105 degrees F. All other handwash sinks observed at approved range of 116-128 degrees F. Adjust this sink to meet Rules.
The hot water in the guestrooms 111,220,203,307,421 and 411 is between 130-131F. Room 108 is 136F. Maintain hot water in guestrooms between 116-128F.

The 4th floor housekeeping cart has single service cups stored next to chemicals. The quats in the spray bottle on the 4th floor is over 500ppm. Use 200-400ppm of quats. The dumpster lid is open. Keep it closed.
The hot water at the handsinks in rooms 400 and 123 is 82F. Hot water must be maintained in the guest rooms between 116-128F.

General Comments
The floors under the ice machines on the 1st and 2nd floor are dirty. Bedskirt is stained in room 221. The boxspring in room 423 is torn. Room 123 is missing caulking where the bathtub meets the floor. Keep all storage 8" off the floor in the 1st floor storage room. (paper towels, old sheets and floor tiles). The 2nd floor storage room has boxes of paper work on the floor, store 8" off the floor on shelving. Repair the cracked floor tiles in the bathroom in room 123. Increase the water pressure to above the mouthguard on the drinking fountain.
No sanitzer provided on all housekeeping carts,provide. Use a minimum of 50ppm of chlorine or 200-400ppm of quats for sanitizing the lavatories and vanities. Provide test kit for sanitizer.

General Comments
Repair laundry room door, it is rusted on the bottom.
The lid and bucket used with the lined ice bucket shall be washed, rinsed and sanitized in place. The lavatory(handsink & counter)shall be cleaned and sanitized prior to using the water from the lavatory to clean. Use all purpose cleaner to clean handsink area and ice bucket & lid then apply the sanitizer.
