General Comments
In the special needs class bathrooms, alcohol based Sani-Hands wipes are provided for wiping down diaper changing areas. While this is not a direct violation of NC School Sanitation Rules, these wipes are meant for sanitizing hands, not cleaning or disinfecting diaper changing surfaces. Because the children using these facilities may have weakened or compromised immune systems, it is highly recommended to use a hospital grade disinfectant and use proper clean up after diaper changing procedures. Proper procedure entails wiping the surface down with a soapy water solution then follow with a disinfectant solution. Disinfecting wipes, meant for use on hard surfaces, would be a safe alternative to disinfecting sprays.
The dividers in the girls bathroom 129 and 313 are broken along the edges and at the door hinges. The laminated surfaces of divider bases are coming apart. Repair or replace the dividers.
The bathroom walls in 215 and 211 are starting to flake again. Use a waterproof, washable material on the walls around the commodes.
The flooring in the small bathrooms is turning yellow, and floor wax is building up behind the commodes.
